دانه های روغنی کتان توسط مزرعه داران به کارخانه های روغن سازی به فروش رسانده و این کارخانه ها هم از دانه های مذکور روغن مرغوب کتان استخراج می کنند.
مزرعه داران زیادی با کاشت گیاه کتان و برداشت دانه های آنها ، این دانه ها را به کارخانه های روغن سازی فروخته تا از این دانه ها روغن کتان بدست آورند. روغن کتان روغنی است که بسیار مورد تاکید کارشناسان تغذیه و بهداشتی قرار گرفته و برای رفع مشکلات پوستی نیز مورد استفاده قرار می گیرد. از این روغن همچنین برای رفع دردهای شکمی استفاده می گردد. روغن های گیاهی تولید شده در داخل کشور از کیفیت مناسبی برخوردار بوده و در حال حاضر بیش از صدها نوع روغن از دانه های مختلف گیاهی استخراج و به مصارف گوناگون می رسد.
