در ایران نیز مناطق مختلفی ماننده سبزوار، شیراز و کردستان و آذربایجان بادام درختی تلخ دارد. از میان محصول این مناطق بادام تلخ آذربایجان هم درصد روغن بیشتری دارد و هم مزه آن تلخ تر بوده و کیفیت دارویی آن موثرتر است.
